Introduction to White Magic – What is White Magic?

White Magic

Last Updated on August 2, 2022 by Wishbonix

The question “What is White Magic?” is a common one. Today, I want to shed some light on what white magic is and what it isn’t. White magic believes in the mystical strength of the elements and eliminating any negativity surrounding you without causing harm or injury to others. Its magic holds power to heal, protect, and bless, making good dreams come true. The followers of white magic give equal importance to positive energy and the means to achieve it.

While black magic accepts harming or injuring others to achieve desired results, white magic practitioners, such as Wiccans, refrain from using evil energies that, according to the threefold law, would fall back on them.

The Tasks of White Magic

You can use white magic spells to protect people, bless people or things, consecrate something, perform healing rituals, and gain love, happiness, and prosperity. People who practice white magic do so to help others. They invoke benevolent deities and use spells that do no harm or harm to the target.

White magic spells can be simple and complex and may also involve curses and hexes to ward off a black magic curse. White magic is defensive in nature and is never intended to harm or endanger anyone or anything.

Understanding White Magic

Generally speaking, White Magic is used to heal the mind, body, and spirit of the negative and harmful energies surrounding us. Witches strive to protect people from curses and hexes. Many use positive magic to smooth a person’s path to their preordained destiny. They believe in the ability of white magic to bless new projects, enable better coexistence and free the soul from destructive feelings.

Common white spells include healing spells, protection spells, good luck spells, and love spells. Such spells are only cast and used with the positive intention of doing good.

White magic is the practice of magic not intended for self or malicious purposes. It uses magical powers to create something positive in the world, e.g. a happy outcome, a new life, a new love, etc. The world is believed to be an inherently positive place, and when you tap into the energy of the universe, you tap into the positive energies that already want to help nature and humanity.

Ethics and Morals

Practitioners of white magic are of high ethics and morals because they use their powers and abilities for good. They are contrasted with those who resort to dark magic to cause destruction, evil, and harm. Often all witches are stereotyped as evil, dangerous, and resorting to black magic; nothing could be further from the truth. They are mistakenly looked down on, even though most practitioners use magic for good and have only good and peaceful intentions. It is time that the notion toward Wiccans and other practitioners changes.

Many believe that white magic is making the world go round, and it is the real magic that always sustains. How else would you explain the wondrous and surreal divine events that practitioners and witches make happen?

The History of White Magic

The term ‘magic’ is derived from the ancient Greek word ‘magoi.’ In ancient times, a tribe called Mager lived in Persia (modern-day Iran). Many men of this tribe studied astrology and dream interpretation. They were considered wise, so the word ‘magoi’ became synonymous with ‘wise man.’ Magic became a part of the English language in the fourteenth century. The word “sorcery” also came to the English language around the same time, and the term white magic sorcerer came to be used in the English language in 1526 CE.  Belief in white magic has come and gone throughout history, depending on the pressure people felt from organized religion in Europe and the US – just think of the Inquisition and witch hunts in Europe and America.

Magic Throughout History

Initially, White Magic was practiced by priests in a religion known as Zoroastrianism, which spread from Persia to Asia in ancient times. These priests (magi) were revered by the population and significantly influenced the emergence of the Hellenistic religion. Both the ancient Greeks and Egyptians had strong beliefs in magic. Their rituals have been passed down from generation to generation throughout history, so the magic practiced today is not much different from the magic practiced by ancient cultures.

Who uses White Magic?

White magic has been and is practiced in Wiccan rituals, as well as in neopagan, pagan, and witchcraft rituals. Many spells come from the Book of Shadows, which lists spells that a witch might need throughout her life. Some spells can be practiced by anyone who believes in magic. Others are more complex to cast and require an initiated priest or priestess to be able to perform the ritual and ceremonies.

White magic has always been used to remove curses, protect people from harm, heal diseases or bless people. There are a variety of white magic spells, including spells to break curses, spells to ward off evil beings, and spells to ward off dark curses. Even with very simple spells, you can help yourself and others.

When you study the history of white magic and look for suitable spells, you must always do so with the right intention. Choose a spell that suits your needs and the results you want. You are responsible for the spell and should make sure that it brings about a result you want to achieve. This is how white magic works – this is how it has always worked.

Differences between White and Black magic

If you are new to the practice of magic, then you have probably already discovered that there are different types of magic available that you can use to transform and improve your situation.

As you learn more about magic, you will surely wonder why some people would cast black spells since their sole purpose is to harm and harm others.

However, classifying magic into different colors is not as easy as you might think. In some practices, magic is inherently black AND white, or just gray. That’s why it’s crucial that you study magic as thoroughly as possible before you start casting spells yourself.

What is black magic?

For those just beginning to learn magic, it is easy and common to categorize black magic as “bad” magic. Images come to mind of men in long black robes singing mysterious chants and using reptiles and blood as ingredients in their rituals.

Although chants, herbs, and blood can be part of black spells, the principle of black magic is far more complicated. The best way to describe black magic is as trying to control a situation in your life. For example, if someone bothers you, follows you, and stalks you, you can take legal action to get help. But if that doesn’t help and the person won’t leave you alone, then you can use the energies of black magic to banish that person from your life and leave you alone.

You are not harming the other person by doing this; you are simply using your own energy and focusing on a specific outcome to change another person’s behavior for your own benefit.

It is true that in such situations, it is black magic, but it does not harm you but rather helps you. Similarly, health spells banish an illness to help you ultimately.

Therefore, black magic is not always classified as evil or harmful but, in many cases, can bring about positive changes for you.

What is white magic?

Others focus solely on the practice of white magic. This form of magic works with positive energies that consider the best interests of everyone involved in a situation. White magic works in harmony with nature, and practitioners allow nature to determine the manner in which it brings about its results. It is essential that it does not harm anyone and that other people’s free will is not influenced or even broken. At the same time, however, it is used to bring about a specific change or result, as is the case with black magic.

Therefore, the fundamental difference between these two types of magic is not how a ritual is performed but the intent of those performing the magic or having it performed on them.

Is Magic colorless?

For most witches and practitioners, magic is colorless because, at its core, magic is always the same. All spells work to alter energies, so it is solely the witch’s or practitioner’s intention that decides whether a spell is “good” or “bad.”

Magic is the harnessing of universal energies that are never good or evil unless the practitioner chooses to use them for either good or evil purposes.

Therefore, those who do not understand magic categorize it as good or bad, black or white.

You can change your life positively with the help of white magic, as well as with black magic. If you’re still concerned about using magic, consider the results you want to achieve and whether they’re okay with you. If they are, then nothing stands in the way of your success.

A Path to Learning White Magic

Chances are, there are all kinds of situations in your life that you would like to change. For example, if you are having problems in a relationship or need money, you are sure to find yourself wishing that you could use magical means to solve your problems. Surprisingly enough, when you focus your energy on positive outcomes, you will find it much easier to get what you want in any given situation. If you are interested in using spiritual energies to influence mundane matters, you should consider creating a tangible and reliable path to using magic for the highest benefit.

Beyond Intent

Consider a situation where you are having issues with a co-worker or supervisor. While you may not want to file a complaint, you may still carry out unproductive acts during the workday, even though you may promise not to engage in these behaviors during the day. Now alter this situation to create a scenario where you made a written or oral commitment to a trusted person. Under this circumstance, you are far more likely to keep your promise, ultimately leading to a better work environment.

There is no such thing as a person who isn’t dealing with a problem or challenge. No matter how positive and upbeat you may try to be, negative emotions and the desire to cause harm will come up. As with the work scenario, you must create a firm commitment to white magic before you even begin looking for information. Making this commitment can be as simple as making a written promise in your journal or buying a piece of jewelry that you will use to remind yourself of your obligations. From there, you will find it much easier to draw appropriate materials and instructors to help you along your path.

Finding a Guide

Even though there are many valuable books you can purchase on white magic, it will always be of some help to have a person to guide you. You can try looking for a Wicca coven in your local area where you can meet others with similar goals and a leader who can help you learn and develop new skills. You may even find Meetup or local groups you can join on Facebook. If this is not possible, you can surely find forums online that serve a similar purpose.

Preparing to Work with Energy

As you may be aware, there is a constant flow of spiritual flow of energy going through you as well as everything else. Excessive amounts are bound to collect in your body when you begin trying to manipulate that energy to alter physical reality. Therefore, before you even start working with energy, it is essential to make sure you know how to ground yourself. It is also important to recognize the symptoms of excessive energy so that you can discharge them appropriately after any given session.

Each day, you are bound to confront situations that require much time and energy to resolve. When you are stuck or seem unable to find a way forward, you may decide that it is time to cast some type of spell. No matter how bad any situation may be, finding a positive answer will lead you to the kinds of white magic spells that will produce the success you are looking for. That said, before you begin on your path to learning white magic, you should be sure of your commitment, have a form of guidance in place, and prepare yourself to work safely with spiritual energies.

Casting White Magic Spells

White symbolizes purity, which is what white magic is all about. This form of magic is performed solely with good intentions by creating positive energies. By sending out positive energies, you will also receive a positive outcome.

It is a good, pure, and beneficial form of magic. Evil or negative thoughts and intentions are never involved in white magic.

How White Magic Spells are Cast

The process for casting white spells calls for a calmer and fresher environment. The mind and the surroundings must be kept free of unsupportive and destructive thoughts, giving room to positive energy. You need to believe in the strength of the spells to make them work.

The settings created for the spell work must balance with the underlying cause for spell casting. The environment must be freed of any interferences and disturbances that can impair the tranquility of thoughts and the concentration of the mind while performing the work. The environment can exude positive energy through ingredients like incense sticks, herbs, candles, and other tools, depending on the type of ritual performed and the outcome that is to be achieved. For example, the color of candles and the variety of herbs vary with the spell’s desired effect. Red candles assist the successful performance of love spells, whereas green candles are considered the color of money and wealth.

Timing of your Spells

Similarly, the time of the spells cast varies with your traditional beliefs. The moon’s phases, the year’s season, and the time of the day; all hold great importance in the success of the spells cast. Many magical traditions prefer to perform love spells on the full moon day to ensure a successful turnout of events.

The practitioners of white magic draw energy from the four basic elements: water, air, fire, and earth. Some witches seek strength from the supreme power by appealing to the spirits and gods by working as the intermediary between the spell seekers and these spirits.

What White Magic Spells Can Do for You

White magic involves your inner beliefs and wishes that can bring about a positive change for everyone involved. For example, love spells can be used to attract a person to you without any harmful intentions. White magic spells include rituals with simple tools such as candles, flowers, herbs, incense, and pen and paper. The use of these tools is to unleash your energy and power and release it into the world around you. What you ‘release’ are your intentions and thoughts, which can often manifest into reality. It is essential to be focused on your desires when casting love spells or any other white magic spells.

Selecting the Right Spell

Before casting white magic spells, it is prudent to choose an aspect of your life that needs improvement, such as your job, love life, health, or any other area. You will then need to find a spell that is suitable for your needs. If you want a new lover or to rekindle an old relationship, you will need to use love spells. Once you find a spell, you need to make preparations for casting the spell and follow the instructions if you are doing it on your own.

The objective is to be fully committed to the spell, tune in to the energy and powers, and visualize the outcome that you desire. No one can expect overnight results, especially after casting the first couple of spells. However, with practice, these spells can soon bring about positive changes and better opportunities in your life. It is essential to obtain white magic spells from someone who understands the principles and the power of magic.

The Types of White Magic Spells

There are different types of white magic spells, including love spells, money spells, healing spells, and fertility spells. White magic has the power to protect against any curses by those who misuse black magic.

Love Spells

Love spells are the most popular magic spells that can also be used as protection to prevent divorce or separation. There are different white magic love spells to deal with specific situations, including lust and anti-lying spells.

Money Spells

Money spells are another popular form of white magic used in a positive way to draw money towards the spell caster. These spells are ideal for those with genuine financial problems and also have the potential to help a person manage and organize their finances better. Like love spells, there are specific spells used for different purposes.

Spells for Health and Well-being

White magic spells for healing have the potential to help people with health problems. This includes the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of these problems.  Then there are fertility spells for those looking to get pregnant or to protect their pregnancy from any harm. Jealousy is rampant in our society. White magic spells can help protect people from any evil eye and counteract any attack aimed at them.

The Tree-Fold Law and White Magic

White witches believe in the need to follow a righteous path in the procurement of the outcome. They are staunch believers of the three-fold law, which states that any wrongful or deceitful action included in the ritual will backfire at three times more energy. Therefore, the practitioners only strive to clear the path to destiny through the elimination of the black cloud looming over one’s head. If the desired outcome and the long-term destiny of the spell seeker are different, the white spell will assist the individual in recognition of the fact and paves the way for the procurement of the long-term outcome.

On the performance of the white magic rituals, wait for the natural elements to turn in your favor by giving it time for the fulfillment of your dreams.

White Witches and Spellcasters

Magic can be used for the benefit of all, a tradition that has been followed for centuries. While most white witches will tell you that magic has no color, we have both black magic and white magic at our disposal today. As you have already learned from this article, white magic is pure, benevolent magic that works on positive energies that are generated during the spell casting process. The simple law that positivity can only create energy that is more positive holds good when it comes to white magic. These spells have been used with great success for generations, always with a positive outcome. No spell in white magic can be cast with harmful intentions, which is the beauty of this type of magic.

What do White Witches and Spell Casters Practice?

White Witches are people, men or women, who practice witchcraft and have learned skills in the magical arts and in sorcery. Witches learn skills in casting spells, creating magic circles, conjuring spirits, evoking the power of gods or goddesses, and practicing rituals. By far and away, white witches have the intention to do good and to help people by manipulating things by intent in order to make things happen.

Let’s look into the Origin of Witches; The word “witch” comes from the old English word for witches called Wiccian, which has as its derivative Wicca and Wiccan. These words basically mean to work sorcery or bewitch someone. Witches have been treated poorly throughout history, being both hated and feared, especially by Christians that associate witchcraft with the devil. In fact, Satanism is a product of Christianity itself and has nothing to do with witchcraft.

Do White Witches Cast Evil Spells as Black Witches do?

People used to worry that even white witches could cast evil spells on them and were thus afraid of them. Even so, witches have a long history, dating back to the ancient Assyrians, Hebrews, Romans, Greeks, and Babylonians. They were treated better in ancient Rome and Greece, where they were used for their knowledge of herbs, the supernatural and magical potions.

A witch is called by many names. They can be called Wiccan if they practice the type of witchcraft known as Wicca. Other’s call them practitioners of Traditional Witchcraft, which is an old English form of witchcraft that believes in the god and goddess as parts of a natural universe. They can also be practitioners of Egyptian witchcraft, a type of sorcery that originated in Egypt and which has some characteristics of both Wicca and Traditional Witchcraft. Then there also Black Witches, who only perform Black Magic and are willing to harm people.

To answer the question. No, white witches do not cast evil spells. Never!

Who do White Witches Believe in?

Witches tend to believe in two deities: in the god and goddess of the earth and in the four natural elements of fire, earth, air, and water. They believe in the overriding power of the universe to control things, and they use elements of the universe to draw upon the power of the universe to complete spells and rituals. White Spell Casters do not believe in Satan, nor do they use Satan in any part of their practice.

Witches tend to be excellent healers and to practice herbalism to differing degrees. The herbs are used in actual healing and are used as parts of spells that heal people. Herbs are used in many spells of witchcraft, and this is how the term “witch doctor” originated. They are also called “cunning folk” or “sorcerers”.

Witches in History

Witches were once persecuted for their belief and behavior, particularly during the times of the Middle Ages in Europe and in pre-colonial times in the US. They were demonized and were treated as agents of the devil by Christians. For this reason, they were tried for witchcraft, and many were hanged, burned or drowned as punishment for their perceived beliefs.

White Witches in Modern Times

Most witches in modern times are also healers and believe they are themselves the mediators between the spiritual world and the natural world. They have skills similar to the Shamans of tribes from all over the world. Some traditions are believers in fairies and believe they can consort with the dead or with spirits from the other world. Most witches have strong beliefs set in nature and in natural things. They have strong feelings about the moon and its phases, the power of the Sun, and the strength of the elements of the earth. Witches usually belong to covens or similar groups of people that share information with one another and practice some magic as a group. Covens do group rituals that are designed to honor the dead, the universe, or merely the earth and its bounties.

Working with White Magic Spell Casters

Everyone and everything has an energy that they shoot out into the world. That’s why almost everyone is capable of performing magic, casting spells, and doing rituals to ask the universe and even the spirits of nature for guidance and help. Your very own energies will help you make your wishes come true.

Upon reaching the adolescent stage, though, a lot of people “forget” about their connection to the powers of the earth and just go on living life the “modern” way.

A chosen few are lucky enough to have someone teaching them the practice of magic and witchcraft like a grandmother.  Some are so dedicated to nature and magic that they learn about the craft continuously and hone their skills as spellcasters, sometimes with the help of a senior witch or joining a coven.  There are a handful of these witches and spell casters that just have a strong bond with the mystical realm, who with little effort can call to the supernatural for assistance and guidance.  White magic runs in their blood, and this small group of magic practitioners is deemed naturally gifted with the craft.

The Magical Powers of White Magic Practitioners

A white witch can be referred to as a witch, shaman, spell caster, priest or priestess, and by definition, these individuals are people believed to have magical powers and practice sorcery.  They become professional witches and spellcasters because they take time to read about the practice, do an apprenticeship with other expert witches and spellcasters, participate in meetings with a coven and increase their knowledge and skills by just performing magic.  Practice makes perfect also applies in any form of magic like voodoo, Wicca, Celtic, etc.  Through the passage of time, every spellcaster improves and gets better with handling magic.

The Experience of Professional Spell Casters and Witches matters!

If you ask an expert witch how long they have been practicing magic, they would usually say their whole lives or a time span that involves decades. The years that are placed in the practice of magic involve sharpening the skills of getting in touch with the earth and the universe and every part of nature.

Professional witches and spellcasters have mastered and strengthened the connection they have to the powers that surround us.  By simple meditation and the closing of their eyes, they get a great sense of concentration and will, which is the primary ingredient of practicing magic successfully.  They are open to spirits that are found in nature, commune with spirit guides, and live in harmony with magic.  They learn and take to heart how a specific day, the phase of the moon, a color, a tool, the involvement of the four elements make magic more potent. Every piece that goes into the practice of magic and casting spells affect power positively or negatively.  If a spellcaster is not skilled, the wrong herb mixed into a potion might cause the spell to go awry.  On the other hand, a well-trained witch can increase the potency of a spell.

Where can you find professional White Witches and Spell Casters?

You don’t have to go far and wide seeking the help of a magic practitioner.  In the olden days, there is one specific person who has that connection with the supernatural that any member of the tribe or town could go to.  Their numbers dwindled when the practice of witchcraft and magic became persecuted, and many of the professional witches and spellcasters went into hiding.  Today, the numbers of witches, psychics, and spellcasters are increasing everywhere, especially on the internet.  However, you have to be cautious because there are plenty of fake magic practitioners there too.  While it might be true that some do practice magic, they might be novices or new to the craft. There is always doubt whether white magic spells can have negative side effects. Usually white magic spells only bring in positive energy and do not have any negative side effects. At any rate, if you cast spells with bad intentions to harm someone, then “white magic” turns “dark” and there could be negative consequences.

I’ve always been interested in magic and I’ve always felt a connection to the positive energy of the elements. The sun, moon and stars. But because of the stigma of witchcraft, I’ve not been bold enough to give it much thought. Until now.
